How bingos work
All Regina Cat Rescue (RCR) bingos take place at Fantasyland Bingo (2029 Park St.). Fantasyland is open seven days a week from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. on a drop in basis for players.
The RCR Bingo Coordinator arrives an hour before each bingo session starts. Upon arrival they count bingo paper, prepare floats and get organized for the bingo volunteers to arrive. The Bingo Coordinator is also the last to leave after the bingo is finished so that they can complete the necessary accounting.
It is important for volunteers to arrive on time for their shift because Fantasyland operates an hourly program that starts on the hour and most bingo paper is sold in the 15 minutes leading up to the start of the bingo program.
Bingo volunteers primary duties include selling bingo paper and break-open tickets to players, relaying winnings between the Bingo Coordinator and bingo players, and sharing winning bingo numbers with the caller. Volunteers are also responsible for helping tidy up the bingo hall from their shifts (emptying wastepaper baskets, bagging used bingo paper, straightening up all table-tops and chairs, etc.). Clean up usually takes about 15 minutes.
Bingo volunteers should be at least 15 years of age to work as a bingo paper floor seller (though children aged 12-14 may be acceptable). Only those at least 18 years of age and older can sell break-open tickets.
