A Long-Time Love Affair

Bexy enjoys some down time in her basket

RCR volunteers work hard every day to rescue cats from life on the streets and get them good homes.  Updates from our adopters make our day - we love knowing we made a difference and that our rescues are loved.

Recently, we heard from an adoptive family who got their cat from RCR a number of years ago. Her name is Bexy, and she was abandoned in the cold and found starving and frozen on a day when the temperature was -29. Even though she was extremely thin and suffering from a terrible case of ear mites, Bexy was very loving from day one, and loved to sleep curled up under her adoptive mom's chin. She regained her health and has been a beloved family member ever since.

Bexy is now 23 years old and has known a lifetime of love with her family, including her younger sister, Prissy.  Although she is encountering some health issues, as senior cats do, she has maintained her spunk and continues to her join her family on their travel adventures, such as camping at Last Mountain Regional Park.

Here is the lovely Bexy relaxing in her favourite basket and basking in the warmth and love of her true forever home.
