Imagine being homeless, with no one to care for you, nowhere to find food and so sick that you collapse on the sidewalk knowing that this is likely the last breath you will ever take. That is what poor Elphie faced when she was rescued. A cat loving person was walking down the sidewalk in North Central when she saw Elphie run across the street then collapse on the sidewalk in front of her. The woman knew that Elphie needed immediate vet care and rushed her to the closest vet clinic where PFA was contacted about caring for her. After fluids were given, and a good meal, Elphie perked right up.

Elphie is now safely in a foster home where she is slowly putting on some much needed weight. She loves to spend time with her foster mom, and is only too happy to snuggle in her lap when given the chance. Elphie knows how lucky she is to have a safe place where she is taken care of and shows her happiness by giving head butts and leg rubs whenever she can. This sweet girl will be the perfect family cat and will show everyone how happy she is to be loved.
