Event Bartending Volunteer

As an Event Bartender Volunteer you will play an integral role in meeting Regina Cat Rescue’s various initiatives.

You work closely with other RCR volunteers  to meet RCRs monetary goals through bartending at events such as weddings or family reunions.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to incoming email requests from RCRs Operations Manager

  • Responsibilities with each event vary, and may include some or all of the following:

    • Beginning shift set up

    • Tend bar (drinks may involve mixing drinks and/or serving beer and/or wine)

    • Selling liquor tickets and handling cash

    • Putting out jugs of water at each table, filling water at tables

    • Coffee/tea set up

    • Clearing cups, cans, bottles from tables

    • Ensuring pop/juice table is filled

    • Midnight lunch set up

    • End of night clean up

  • Other responsibilities as directed by Board of Directors 

Time Commitments

  • Each event time varies, and will be noted in the emails. Timing can range from starting at 3:00pm and ending at 1:00am or starting at 5:30pm and ending at 2:00am.  You will be given the opportunity to sign up as frequently as able, and when time is longer, there may be a possibility to split into 4 - 5 hour shifts.

    Please note while we do our best to accurately reflect the time commitment required to ensure interested individuals are aware, it may fluctuate depending on the time of year and seasons.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Age requirement of 19+ is a must, along with a valid license and reliable transportation

  • Commitment to RCR’s mission and love of animals 

  • Able to stay positive and maintain a high level of enthusiasm while president at the event

  • An ability to multitask, while staying organized and maintaining a high level of detail 

  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively as a team player

  • Ability to act with a high degree of cordiality and mannerism in public settings

  • Access to reliable internet coverage and phone or computer with access to email, as this is the primary means of communication to schedule events

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

This volunteer opportunity might qualify for the Fine Option Program. As a remote-based organization, RCR does not have an office space or facility.
