BACKGROUND

Amelia is a community cat who likely gave birth on the streets and was suspected to have an older litter when we took her into care, but the kittens were never found. However, given the high volume of strays at the location and cold weather, Amelia was rescued and placed into foster care for her safety and well being. She was a bit shy at first but has become a sweet and loving cat with the diligence of her loving foster family.

Amelia is a stunning cat with gorgeous green eyes and beautiful tabby markings. She has settled in nicely with her foster family and is happy to be safe and warm, not to mention her appreciation of pets and cuddles once she knows you! She is a bit timid, but slowly but surely she has come out of her shell and made herself at home.

After a bit of a journey that saw her receive a double femoral head ostectomy to correct fractured hips. Amelia is now poised to be the best feline friend for a lucky adopter who is seeking a loyal and loving cat that is a great fit for a family with older children. After her time on the streets, she is wary of other cats and has never adjusted to the resident cat in the foster home. She would thrive as an only cat.

Metro Pet Market’s Spay It Forward initiative sponsors the spay of one Regina Cat Rescue cat per month as part of their ongoing mission to foster responsible pet guardianship.
