BACKGROUND

Holly is a stunning and sweet Gal that was surrendered back to the Regina Cat Rescue by her previous owner for no fault of her own. After two years living with another cat who was increasingly aggressive toward her, Holly’s environment was becoming too stressful for her to continue living in. Her previous owner wants Holly to have a second chance to find the right home for her, where she can always feel safe and comfortable.

Holly is an affectionate and clever tortoiseshell, with a pretty black and orange coat accompanied by adorable markings on her forehead and chin. Holly has little-to-no “tortitude” except for when it comes to closed doors -- she loves being around her people and dislikes being shut out of rooms. You will often hear Holly purring loudly or “chirping” away when she is giving and receiving affection. Holly does not care much for being picked up and held, but she loves to curl up next to her people or lay in their lap for a cat nap. She may be timid around strangers initially, but anyone can get the key to Holly’s heart through puree treats and wand toys. Holly is also very curious and loves to explore her domain — be aware that she is capable of opening up doors with paddle/lever handles and can even leverage open cabinet doors. With her energetic and playful nature, Holly needs plenty of spots around the house to jump, climb and scratch.

Holly is very patient and playful with older children, especially those that let her come to them -- she might not be a good fit for families with small children who can’t recognize when she is overstimulated. Holly loves watching the outdoors from the safety of the indoors, so she would be suited for a strictly-indoor lifestyle that also allows her to bird-watch from a window. As a sweet but shy girl, she would likely be most comfortable as the only cat in the household. Holly would thrive in a household that is quiet, stable, and full of love for her.
