Cat Cabby

Purpose

As a Cat Cabby for Regina Cat Rescue, you’re responsible for picking up and dropping off cats between various veterinary clinics, satellite adoption centres and foster homes.

Benefits to Volunteering

  • The satisfaction of helping rescued cats get the veterinary care they need and helping them find forever homes

  • The opportunity to be part of a cat-loving team

Responsibilities

The Pet Rescue and Community Cat Co-Chairs will maintain the pool of Cat Cabbies. Then, when a cat needs a ride, the details of the task (date, time, address of pick up and drop off, cat’s name, etc.) will be shared with this pool of Cat Cabbies, including you. If you can take on the task, respond asap to confirm you’re taking it on.

Then it’s your responsibility to pick up and drop off the cat punctually ensuring they arrive safely and are passed on to the appropriate person.

Regina Cat Rescue will provide you with a cat carrier to keep on hand (in your car or home) to be used in cases where the cat has no carrier.

Note – Regina Cat Rescue is not able to provide gift-in-kind tax receipts for gas or mileage

Time Commitment

Time commitment varies but would typically requires 30-60 minutes per task. How many tasks you take on per week or month is up to you, but to remain the pool of Cat Cabbies we’d look for each volunteer to take on 1-2 tasks per month.
