Media Relations and Education
/Purpose
As a member of the Regina Cat Rescue (RCR) Communications team you will take the lead on media outreach and education for the organization.

Responsibilities
Manage annual communications strategies
Act as RCR spokesperson, arrange interviews, do proactive media outreach
Copywriting education articles for website and blog, content for brochures
Manage photo assignments and manage photographers
Promotion online *but not social media* (e.g. posting garage sale on kijiji, upcoming events on the CTV listings, Prairie Dog event listing, QC event listing, etc.)
Promotion offline (education articles in local newsletters like Cathedral Village newsletter, North Central newsletter, etc.)
Coordinate trade show booths (Feeding Furbabies, Pet Expo, What Women Want, etc.)
Oversee quarterly ebulletin including report (new subscribers, unsubscribes, popular content, etc.) and determine/measure appropriate metrics
*Note, if we get enough interested candidates, we may split the role into two based on candidate interests.
Time Commitment
Variable - approximately 2-4 hours per week
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Commitment to RCR’s mission
Very comfortable speaking to media and external partners
Access to a computer/internet
High attention to detail
Proficient writer and editor (CP Style preferred)
Great organization skills
Great interpersonal communication skills
Problem solving and creativity are also helpful
