Background

Riza is an amazing momma who found herself abandoned in bear country pregnant, and homeless. Not only did she manage to find enough food for herself, but she also managed to keep her 3 babies safe until she orchestrated their rescue. One mid summer afternoon,  Riza showed up at a cabin, dehydrated, hungry and extremely exhausted. Thankfully, the cabin owners were cat loving people who let the momma in and gave her food and water. After she had recovered, she disappeared only to arrive at the doorstep carrying a kitten. Riza did this 2 more times to ensure that her family was safe. The people contacted RCR for help and a foster home was found for Riza and her 3 babies.

After being abandoned to fend for herself in less than hospitable conditions, one would assume that Riza would be unsure of people but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Riza is an incredibly affectionate girl who is so happy to be snuggled. She loves being petted and enjoys belly rubs too. Though she’s still a kitten herself, she has grown up very fast and is just re-learning to play with toys and have fun. Riza was fostered in a home with other cats of all ages as well as a high energy dog. She did well with the other cats and was fine having them in her space with her babies, but she didn’t play with them. Riza was not a fan of the dog but with a cat savvy dog, she may learn to get along.

This amazing cat did everything she could to protect her babies and now that they are all safe and cared for, it is Riza’s turn to find a loving family to give their all to love and protect her.
